Podcast By: Rebecca Head, Marcus Gunter, Amber Gwaltney

Synopsis:

Our podcast was a consultation between two web consultants and a client with traffic building difficulties. The consultants, Rebecca and Amber, gave a brief overview of traffic building. Afterwards, they explained to Dr. Gunter the importance of a web traffic plan and how SEO and SEA are beneficial to building web traffic. They discussed the client¢s goals and evaluated his current market plan. With this information, they developed several strategies that Dr. Gunter could later implement in his search engine marketing plan. The session ended with a brief recap on five main points that the audience could use for further traffic building development.

FYI:
Our group had technical difficulties uploading the mp3 file. We used a different recording program (Acid 4.0), and this may have been the reason for the problems we faced inputting our audio onto the website. If you plan on using a different recording program and you have difficulties uploading, we suggest the following:

1. Download Audacity 1.2.6 beta (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download)
2. Open your existing audio file using audacity
3. Click File --> Export as MP3
4. After clicking save, the program will direct you to do import a file. The directions for this are on the following webpage: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3
5. Make sure your audio file has the following specifications:
Sample format: 16-bit
Sampling rate: 441000
Mp3 encoding: 128kps
6. Now repeat step 3

I find this episode very engaging through the demonstration of a real situation. The conversation flowed nicely and naturally, from surface issues to more in-depth topics. I don't know if the group did actually interview someone and re-enacted it or just came up with a fake situation. But be careful using this approach, as it may cause trouble with the real business owner. Ideally, you want to use this approach with the actual business owner.
